Paddywoman and I fight over a number of things. Shoes, bags, perfumes, ankara fabric and even her old aso-oke. Somehow, people, especially my brothers and sisters-in-law buy her the best things (because she truly deserves them).
Fortunately, I’m her only daughter, so she allows me share most of them. The ones she refuses to allow me use, I steal and rock when she travels and keep them back in place before she gets back. Ssshhh! You can’t tell her that.
This post is not about the countless ‘borrow poses’, I’ll write about those another time. Instead, it’s about this aso-oke she gave me few years back. If my memory serves me right, she used it for my grandma’s burial around August, 1999.
At first, I made it into a flare dress and rocked it for about two years after which my tailor recently converted it to a skirt. Yesterday, I paired it with this lace top made from my friend’s wedding aso-ebi. I took lots of pictures, and although I’m not a style blogger, I thought to share some, because why have one when you can have more?
Paddywoman complains whenever I wear from-fitting clothes, so I’m sure she’ll love this outfit on me. . . not that I’ve stopped wearing tight clothes sha.
Hahahahaha!! Can’t wait to read about your theft and rock. It’s a nice outfit on you.

You look great. As always. I still don’t know what’s stopping you from being a style blogger for the masses, aka people like me. I like how everything you’re wearing could be easily found/borrowed. Going to copy this look, as usual. Thanks for sharing!

I really like the lace top! So gorg.. but maybe if the skirt was made to fit, as in pencilled it’d look even lovelier (for want of a better word, lol) :*

I’m even hunting seriously for more aso-oke to make as many clothes as possible, including a pencil skirt. Thanks for reading!
